Marianne Daoust, RN – Cardiac Device Clinic
Marianne is an experienced nurse who specializes in caring for patients with heart conditions. She oversees Emerson Cardiovascular Associates’ Cardiac Device Clinic, which provides ongoing care and monitoring to individuals with pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronization therapy devices (CRT) and loop recorders. Many patients can have their cardiac devices monitored remotely.
Paul Dolan, RDCS – Cardiac Sonographer
Paul, a registered cardiac ultrasound technologist, specializes in performing echocardiograms—testing that uses ultrasound to produce images of the heart. Commonly referred to as an “echo,” it is one of the most widely used diagnostic tests for heart disease. Paul also performs stress echocardiograms, which often are done before and after patients walk on a treadmill, and studies that assess the heart for structural problems.
Fran Gendron – ETT – Stress Technician
Fran specializes in performing stress tests that will assess your heart for blockages (Coronary Artery Disease), irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias), heart disease or other conditions, and will also determine your cardiovascular fitness level. In Fran’s words: “As a cardiac technician I can’t change whether a patient has a problem, or what the outcome will be, but if I can temporarily diffuse that worry while obtaining high quality information, I’ve done my job.”
